As I watch the news coverage of what is happening in Baltimore right now, I see CHILDREN throwing rocks at police. I see CHILDREN looting and rioting. What are the children doing in such a dangerous situation? What are the children doing engaging in such horrific behaviors?
Our children need us now more than ever. Oh my goodness it just breaks my heart to see these things.
As parents, as Behavior Analysts, as teachers, as citizens of our communities, it is our job to show them the way. It is our job to teach the good behaviors and reinforce, reinforce, reinforce them!
Remember about positive reinforcement? Let’s use it to prevent CHILDREN from being involved in such ugly things. They need us!
